Jointing tape is a paper or fiber tape that reinforces joints between plasterboard and helps prevent cracking. It's often used in corners and along joint lines.

A pre-creased paper tape that's cheaper than scrim tape and comes in longer rolls. It's not self-adhesive and requires a layer of jointing compound underneath.

Benefits of jointing tape

Helps keep compound in place.

Helps prevent cracking and crumbling as the building settles.

Helps secure joints to maintain fire and sound performance.

Without tape, walls can become weaker and more prone to damage.
